As a result their dilapidated line rooms which are over 100 years old were fully repaired. Eight line rooms at Gammaduwa and Madupatti (Sri Puram) estate were repaired accordingly. Further, the organizing talent of the community was also improved by organizing training programmes.
Now, a true change has taken place in the lives of the community. Their leadership traits have been enhanced. There is also a virtuous change in the lives of the children. Women freely move with the society now. Two community based organizations have been formed. The community lead a peaceful life with dignity and pride.
The whole project was vested to the community at a special meeting held under the patronage of Rev. Fr. Camillus D. Jansz, Director of SETIK Organization on the 11th February 2012. Mr. John – C.R.S. Representative in Sri Lanka was also present at this occasion. The staff also actively contributed to this programme. There was an excellent response and acknowledgement from the community for this ceremony.
